Watch Churchill | Prime Video

Historians say this movie is a “perverse fantasy" and "a monstrous twisting of the truth and leads the audience down a road of lies". Google it. I rented the wrong Churchill movie. Gary Oldman is not in this one. This movie would have us believe Churchill was senile. And that Eisenhower was glib and snotty to the PM.

Gary Saderup is amazing in this one-man show. The show is augmented by still photos that capture 1939-1940, with a few from WWI. Some of the spoken lines are from familiar Churchill speeches but many are from Churchill's writings and recollections of events. This is definitely worth watching!

I've read other books on Churchill, listened to his speeches and film clips; this movie misses more than it hits. There are several Darkest Hour fact checking websites dealing with the accuracy of the events, timelines, relationships, and characters' personalities; they also found the movie interesting but lacking.
